Comfort Through Technology

When we think of comfortable shoes, our minds are likely to jump to something boxy and unflattering, but with FitFlop this couldn’t be further from the truth. Led by in-house expert Dr Kim Lilley, FitFlop have patented six trademarked shoe technologies, each designed to answer the question: why can’t comfort and style be perfectly balanced? 

Using her PhD, and 11 years of field experience in biomechanics, Lilley’s designs were aimed to complement how our feet naturally move. In doing so, FitFlop’s shoes can improve our joint health by distributing pressure evenly across the foot.

Not only is this beneficial for our health in the long term, but it can also change our relationship with activities, such as walking, running and other sports, making them less taxing and more enjoyable. 

“Biomechanics is the study of the principles behind movement and structure. It combines physics, engineering, and biology to understand the interactions between the musculoskeletal system, muscles, and external forces and the impact this has on your body. Biomechanics can be used to analyse movement patterns, performance, injury prevention, and rehabilitation.” – Dr Kim Lilley

Undergoing rigorous testing at FitFlop’s Human Performance Lab in Calgary, Canada, their team work hard to give your feet the support and comfort they need.
